Avoiding Scammers in the Doodle World: A guide to asking the right questions.

Since 2020, the number of fraudulent puppy sellers has significantly increased. More and more families are falling victim to scams, losing deposits and even paying the full price for a puppy when searching online for their new furry family member.

At Deaz, we welcome in-person visits to our ranch to meet the puppies, setting us apart from scammers and other breeders.

An important initial step is to check for an online presence. Reputable breeders typically have a large following on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and some, including us, have a YouTube channel to share their stories. A lack of followers or a new account can be a warning sign.

Ensure that contact information is easily accessible. Deaz provides email, messenger, telephone number, and address as evidence of our physical business location.

Payments should only be made upon receiving the dog, especially when picking up the puppy in person at Deaz Doodle Ranch. In cases where transportation services are needed, payment may be required beforehand. However, we offer virtual visits and updates until the final delivery date for peace of mind.

Ask for references, which should be readily available. While customer contact information is kept private, Deaz offers an online community called Deaz Doodle Ranch Extended Family for sharing photos and information. Prospective families can also join this group for references.

Request information and documentation. The Deaz website features profiles for all parents in the breeding program, and our lines undergo genetic testing for healthy dogs. Ensure that the puppy's parents have been health tested, and ask for vet reports and shot records, which are included in the go-home packet provided by Deaz.

Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true and sellers pressuring for immediate payments. Deaz values your timeline and is patient throughout the process. Remember, raising puppies properly requires time and money, so suspiciously cheap puppies could indicate a scam. Conduct thorough research on other aspects to avoid potential red flags.

Best of luck with your search, and feel free to contact Deaz Doodle Ranch with any questions. Even if we're not the right fit for you, we're always here to assist those in need.
